Experiment 01: The day
Trying something new. I remember when I was in Texas, I posted a lot less on Facebook and Twitter. Since leaving Texas, going back to Rochester, NY, and now living in Chicago, all that has changed. I’m on 565321542640809874323 social networks, and I always have my phone with me ready to post. On top of that, Mashable is one of the sites always open on my computer at work, and is where a good chunk of my news comes from. So instead of posting 24 links/posts/pictures I day, I am going to try to consolidate them (in tumblr, of all places). I may encounter frustration, as tumblr does not give you lots of choices with formatting. So we’ll see how this goes. And literally, just now, I got switched tabs for a second, and saw the my first post. Here we go.
Why I’m Not Getting Hopping on the iOS Train
Apple to Drop Google Maps, Add 3D in iOS 6 [REPORT]
Don’t get me wrong, this looks awesome. But you can’t ditch Google. Not when my life is on Google. (Well ok, Apple can, but I just won’t buy an iPad/iPhone.) I was on the fence too. If you know me, you know I hate my phone, but I’ve been told that it is mostly because of the specific model I have. However, I have been so frustrated with Samsung products in the past, that I am almost done with them all together. Combine that with how poorly the Android OS preforms on my phone, and I am one more try away from ditching Samsung and possible Android all together. But then I saw the Samsung Galaxy S III, and I got excited. That is my one last shot for Samsung, and maybe Android as well. Well that was a tangent.

Oh hey. Camoflaj’s Kickstarter for Republique got fully funded! With about 7 hours to spare, nice.
I backed it. Totally. And I don’t even have an iOS device. I also doubt my PC can run it. But whatever. I hope to buy a new PC soon, and it won’t launch till around September of 2013 anyway. There’s still a little time left if you want to back it to give them additional funds! Closes May 11th at 6pm EDT.

So I downloaded this app (Android), Calorie Counter which does way more than just count calories. I found it because I was looking for a protein counter. I’ve been a vegetarian for about 8 years, and I recently (like, this week) switched back to an omnivorous diet. I did this because I wanted more full proteins, and less soy protein. I was looking for a way to keep track of it all, and I stumbled on this beauty, which preforms magically. Tracks calories, protein, fat, carbs, pretty much everything you need! You can set goals (I’m looking to gain 10 pounds in lean muscle) and log exercises and activities as well. It will count how many calories you burnt too. And it’s free! How is it free? Seriously? This app is amazing! If you have any fitness goals, like any at all, seriously, grab this.
Edit: Forgot to mention, it has pretty much every restaurant and dish in there, as well as anything you buy at the store, and it has a barcode scanner. This thing is awesome!
